The Category Five Wind Ensemble is a professional-level wind ensemble in the Prince George's / Anne Arundel Counties of Maryland. The all-volunteer ensemble consists of music teachers, freelancers, active & retired military musicians, and college music majors. The group's name is taken from the Saffir-Simpson hurricane rating scale. Category Five storms comprise the strongest hurricanes, which are characterized by "howling winds and intense, percussive thunder."
